Patience has never been one of my virtues, always hard to keep going when I'm feeling bad but hang in there cause it will get better for sure;-) It took me years to get diagnosed but once I did I took responsibility and stopped believing doctors knew best for me. If it hadn't been for stop the thyroid madness website, Janie and Val I wouldn't have had a clue that I'm my own best advocate. It relieves stress to vent so vent on my fellow hypo/hormone sufferer, we're here for you;-) One day soon you'll be back to feeling good again and you'll be able to help others who suffer as you have. It's just a bummer that we have to walk the hormonal path first in order to encourage others so don't give up;-) You may have to fire a few doctors before you find one who see eye to eye with you or you may just find you have to do what it takes to get better on your own too. Sometimes docs are at a loss as to what to do and they are most often pressed for time. The thing about hypothyroidism and perimenopause is that it takes time and effort to ferret out all the symptoms and combinations of hormone imbalances, unfortunately not all docs take the time to do that. Hang in there and keep moving forward, you already know what your in store for if you turn around and go back.<<Posted by: "avilesc62" avilesc62@... avilesc62Wed Aug 18, 2010 1:45 pm (PDT)Thanks Kem...this stuff is just getting so much worse..and I really mean that! Seams like ever since I started doing alternative meds it has only gotten worse. I am taking bio hormones along with adrenal support, now supplementing with iron also and it just seems crazy on certain days. I have nothing better to do then keep trying but many days I want to just chuck it all out and do nothing! And take my chances...but I won't. I will try to still find another doctor but it was just me venting. I appreciate the shout out. Thanks.>> I'm 54, been peri since my early 30's..and no it won't last forever > although it can seem so.
