Guest guest
Hema-plex comes in different strengths. I think the softgels are 85 mg per 3 capsules. That may be the ones you have. I used to take the hard tablets, they were 85 mg per one tablet. Lethal Lee had a good point about the ingredients in these, they are not perfect. But I would like to share my personal experience with them. They do contain green tea, which I try to avoid because of the fluoride. The B vitamins they contain are not the absolute best form of B vitamins available. BUT - iron is a HUGE problem for me, so I decided to take Hema-Plex anyway, because they just plain raised my iron better than anything else I ever tried. I had to stop taking them because I have high copper (which is fairly rare) and they contain copper. If they came out with a copper-free Hema-Plex, I'd be back on them in a heartbeat. > > > > > > Hey Margery, > > > > > > here are my recent iron labs: > > > > > > Iron Binding Capacity (TBIC) 280 ug/ dL range: 250 - 450 > > > > > > UIBC 187 ug/ dL range: 150 - 375 > > > > > > Iron, Serum 93 ug/ dL range: 35 - 155 > > > > > > Iron Saturation 33 % range: 15 - 55 > > > > > > ferritin 15 > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Jumping in here...you went from 22mcg T3/day to 45mcg T3/day in only a few days? That is MUCH faster an increase than I would do. > > > > > > Yeah, I did.. somehow i'm doing ok on it. but my question is that is there a problem doing it if you can " handle " any anxiety that comes with it??? > > > > > > > > > > > I followed Moderator's Nick's dosing page, which says: > > > > " 6.25 every 3 to 5 days " > > > > (And I had to go even slower than that at times.) > > > > > > > Thanks, I've read this a million times, and I initally started out doing it this way. Then I found I couldn't tolerate more than 4 or 5 doses of 6.25 (once I started going up to the 12.5 dose I could handle the first one, but when I added the 2nd one I posted about the loud pounding heartbeat etc. here, and learned that meant I couldn't tolerate more) so I went back down to stay at the 6.25 4x a day, and then per val (because we didn't know what my adrenals looked like) went down to 6.25 mg 2x a day, then I added a 3rd dose of 6.25, was fine, and waited to get some tests done. I got the iron , ferritin and cortisol labs back, and I don't know why really, but I just tried again. Is it ok to do that? What would make it not ok to do it? > > > > > > > > Information on deciding whether or not it is time for a T3 dose increase on Nick's web page: > > > > http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/doineed.htm > > > > > > I've read this too a bunch of times, but I'm still sort of lost, I guess. Here's a link to one of Moderator Val's posts about this: > > > > http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/48444 > > > > > > This was great, thanks > > > > > > > > > >
