Thoughts on lipitor and statins

I'm curious about the group's thoughts on lipitor. Obviously if you don't have

to take them all the better. I was born with a bad aortic valve which was

replaced 2 years ago with an artificial valve at the age of 34. Because of this

my cardiologist has always been cautious and prescribed the statin years ago.

I'm also on Zetia as well. Now, before I started synthroid when I was 18 my

cholesterol was way up there around 400, it was down to 210 or so after I was

going on synthroid. I just started the T3 about 9 weeks ago.

My thoughts are that I want to get the T3 going and my RT3 cleared before going

into battle with my cardiologist to convince him to take me off the statin and

monitor my cholesterol for a while. Does anyone have any experience with coming

from synthetic T4 to T3 and seeing an improved lipid panel? Does taking a statin

either one like Lipitor or Zetia interfere with taking T3? What are your general

thoughts on Lipitor?

Bill
