Lab Results Now Show Rt3 problem and I need dosing help

TSH - .005

FT4 - .95 (.82 - 1.77)

FT3 - 3.4 (2.0 - 4.4)

Reverse T3 - 269 (90-350)

Current thyroid meds:

Erfa - 2 grains daily

Cytomel - 25 mg daily

Current symptoms:

FATIGUE

Irritable

Inpatient with the kiddos, jumpy, etc.

Anxiety

Can you please advise me on what these mean and what to change in my medications

and what this high RT3 means? I am getting the ratio of 12.3...?

Reverse T3 - 269 (90-350)

Your FT3/RT3 ratio is 12.6. This is not good as it needs to be at least 20

preferably higher. You need to switch to T3 onyl. I would stop the ERFA and go

to 50mcg T3 split into four doses.

Thank you Val, how long do I hold at 50 before increasing......and

can I expect any side effects not taking any T4 at first?

I also need the source for cytomel please, my doc will only write for 25 mcg

daily.

Thanks again, even this new doc I found that is on board with most of this had

NEVER heard of the RT3 calculation for this. Thanks again...how would I have

even known w/o you!! I need to feel better so bad!!!

When you get a chance will you PM me the Cynomel source from mexico if that is

still the one you recommend? thanks Val!!
