Guest guest
Iron: To see if iron is the problem, we need an additional measure, other than ferritin, of iron to determine accurate iron status, an iron panel showing a % saturation. (Ferritin can be falsely elevated by inflammation or other causes.) A good % saturation is 35-45. Lower than this and low iron may be causing T3 intolerance. Adrenals: We need a better picture of adrenal status. Since you can't get tested yet, temperature graphing will have to do. Here's the link to Moderator Nick's adrenal info page: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ and the link to the temperature graphing info: http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph This shows temperature stability, and adrenal status. If you can't test, this is a must-do for determining correct adrenal support. I am not familiar with Adren-All. Your questions: 1. Everyone varies in when they feel relief. I do not think you should be feeling worse; mildly hypo when due for a T3 dose increase is about what should be happening. That's why I'm suspicious of iron and adrenal issues. 2. I believe some people get good results with iso-cort. But without adrenal info such as temperature graphing, dosing is a guess. I do not take iso-cort and am not qualified to be giving dosing suggestions. I can only say what I would do: if I had as crappy a night as you did, I'd cut back on the Iso-cort until I got more info. You should be able to get good info on this from the Adrenals Group, here's the link: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Unfortunately they are closed for a break right now, but will be re-opening August 28th. Have your temp graph ready, I'd bet that's the first thing they'll ask for! 3. I think this is good temperature improvement after only three weeks. They will most likely continue to go up slowly. You are only at week 3, so it seems a little early to worry about not feeling better yet. BUT you should NOT be feeling worse. Iron and adrenals need further checking. If iron is a problem - are you taking enough? 250-200 mg elemental a day, taken in at least two doses, taken at the same time as Vitamin C. Here is a link to an iron that many here have had good results with: http://www.iherb.com/Bluebonnet-Nutrition-Chelated-Iron-90-Vcaps/11571?at=0 If adrenals are a problem - this is getting a little out of my range of knowledge, the adrenal group is the best place to get these answers.
