Guest guest Posted August 17, 2010 Report Share Posted August 17, 2010 Hi Dawn, If your Daughter hadn't been taking Iron supps those Labs would be suspicious for Hemochromatosis. However as she had been supping is likely she has overshot optimal levels. I assume at some point she had low Iron/Ferritin & she is on T3 for Rt3 issues? If low Iron was due to low absorption because of Hypo as she becomes less Hypo absorption will improve too. Certainly on these Labs I would stop supping Iron (which she has done. Then retest in a couple of months to see where levels are. I would suggest getting a CBC with differential & ESR at same time as the Iron Panel/Ferritin too. Make sure the protocols are followed including testing early am fasting. If you want to strictly test stop Vit C & B12 for 5 days as well as avoid high Iron food.
