Guest guest
Hi Alana, Regarding your friend's iron panel results (I wish there'd been a UIBC), one thing I'd suspect from those results is a chronic infection, in addition to what others here are pointing out. When the body is dealing with an infection, it starts pulling iron away and into ferritin, so that the infection doesn't use it (bugs like iron). I was just diagnosed with Lyme disease, and a lot of your friend's symptoms, I have. -VERY tired as a reaction to normal stresses at work -lack of motivation to due things -anxiety and worry -flat mood but not sad Some of the other things could fit too. I admit, since I was diagnosed, it's the first thing I think of when I hear anyone complaining of *any* symptoms at all. But, I figure it won't hurt for me to mention it here. If he thinks this fits, email me privately, and I will tell you where to test and what test to order. It's necessary to use the right lab. A good B12 level would be 550; a better one is 1,000 or higher. You are a great friend! Pam

Guest guest
I am very interested in this thread as my Ferritin keeps rising and I do have high body inflammation . I am currently being tested for Gout and just found out about a relationship between thyroid and uric acids. I guess I need to have my iron tested, not just the Ferritin. Thanks for sharing. Abundant Blessings, .._,___
