Guest guest
Ihave not seen anyone that could not take HC. So DO need ot start wiht a horrendous dose to avoid these sympotoms. But oyu could always try Medrol which si longer lasting nd sometimes the gradula onset is what is needed. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ I keep posting but its not working, so i thought i'd try the rt3 route.. I started 30mg HC for one day and had horrible heart palps, increased heart rate and muscle and joint pain severely everywhere...I cut it back to 15 and still felt awful for two days... i don't know what dose for me is correct. Today is the same thing at 20mg... when i was well i always felt jittery and like i was racing when ever i took a steroid...Is it possible i just can't take them? I have adrenal insufficiency now..I felt better on adrenal vit B and extracts/licorice root than i do on HC.... My saliva results were midrange normal at all times but i was hypo when i took them.... I take levoxyl 125mcg split bid... i feel like it might make me worse after i take it too? iron is 45, ferritin 129 thanks..jen
Guest guest
This all started because I couldnt take synthroid five months ago I guess due to low cortisol...So, the site always mentions supporting the adrenals before adding thyroid....I don't have a thyroid, but maybe if I came off my levoxyl and just did HC 20mg qd for three days to build up? Does this sound like it might work? I think it is the thyroid meds causing these symptoms.. I can't handle a higher dose than 30hc i don't think my heart can handle it...If I try a different steroid Medrol is best? How would you start and dose it? Thanks..I am so upset about all this. I just want something to work.. I can't take one thing without setting off another..It doesn't make sense I can't take HC to me either..To: RT3_T3 Sent: Sat, July 17, 2010 6:39:12 PMSubject: Re: Val/HC Ihave not seen anyone that could not take HC. If you are on thyroid meds and have low cortisol this can cause the T3 to build up in your blood stream (pool) and then starting T3 can @open the flood gates " and let it through. You need to lower the thyroid levels to a safe level in your blood stream before starting HC. I am not going to put a number to how many days you need to stop for as I don't know any of your lab results. This is nothing to do with " not being able to tolerate HC " , it's the HC performing it's correct function and letting T3 into the cells, unfortunately too much of it. You might benefit from joining the adrenal group and looking through their FAQ site http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Their FAQ Web site is here http://faqhelp.webs.com/ Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
Why did you start at 30 HC? That's slightly higher than the recommended 20 to 25 for most women. Medrol isn't going to be any different, it will do the same things. It just has a longer half life and takes longer to kick in. I can tell you that when I got onto too much HC, I was having terrible heart pounding and feeling jittery, et. I thought I was on too much t3 but it was too much HC rushing the t3 inot my cells in bursts, etc. So I agree with Nick that the HC is pushing the t3 into your cells. I don't know that you sould just stop thyroid meds if you have no thyroid. It might be dangerous. So maybe just lower them way down. I would go to the adrenals group and ask for help, letting them know you have no thyroid and how to work up onto HC in a situation like that. Guest guest
thanks nick... i am so distraught trying to figure this out since no doctor seems to care. also, i am losing hair and i think my spleen is starting to hurt? not sure......anyway, so today i took 10hc and i am really tired 3 hours later...i am not taking levoxyl today..but you think it is the T3 pushing into the cells that is why i am having the issues? I am on the adrenal group, but i can't post to it via my computer or something...so, when i had my free T3 3 weeks ago it was 210 and my T4 was 1.2......my last rt3 was 23. so it is possible to get stable on hc then add thyroid slowly? When i was taking the adrenal supplements with licorice root in them i felt better than i do now. It was actually letting some thyroid in. I can't use the levoxyl (125mg daily split twice a day) thyroid meds alone. > > >.I don't have a thyroid, but maybe if I came off my levoxyl and > >just did HC 20mg qd for three days to build up? I started wednesday and am aiming at 20, but if i don't need it i want to cut it back... > > >.I don't have a thyroid, but maybe if I came off my levoxyl and > >just did HC 20mg qd for three days to build up?
