Val or Nick,

Do I need to fast for sodium test on my metabolic panel and if so for how long?

I'm curious to see where sodium is. I've been taking 3 teaspoons a day and the

diastolic reading in my BP recently has dropped to frequently 60's or even

50's. The systolic is ranging right around 115-120. And diastolic was around

70 or a little higher. In past few days just the bottom reading has lowered

even with staying on 3 teaspoons of salt a day.
