Guest guest
As long as the ratio doesn't go too low again a little bit of RT3 is not harmful. But remember it takeds 6-8 WEEKS for T4 to build anbd start converting to either T3 or RT3. So I would raise it very slowly. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Hi everyone > I am trying to add a little bit of naturethroid back into my T3 regimen, now that I am having some luck with a paleo type of diet > Now I am on 60 mcg of T3 plus 1/2 grain of naturethroid. Guest guest
I know all Val wanna say to me is "DON'T TAKE T4!" but I am trying this treatment plan by my new doc, Dr. Hertoghe now, so... I changed my 65 mcg of t3 to 120 mg ERFA Thyroid. I did an rT3 test today and will get the restults in 1+ week. I look forward to that. Wonder what the ratio is like., with your level of experience, how dangerous would you say it is to be on 2 grains of ERFA Thyroid, considering this is 20% T3 and 80% T4 roughly? Speaking of rT3 conversion and all...I was on T4 and just T4 in 2008 and into 2009. I did feel strange and bad, but, I never had a lot of heart arrhythmias and such on T4-only. I only got strange "laziness attacks" every evening, which made me flat out lie on my couch for 1 to 4 hours straight. I suspect LOW CORTISOL at the time.I know I asked you, Val, about the FT3/rT3 ratio: If it's possible to NOT have problems if the ratio is less than 20 and you said it's impossible. Does this mean I _must_ have some of the problems I have now because my ratio is 19ish? (Last time I checked, almsot 6 weeks ago...)I must say all of this interests me A LOT, cause it's my LIFE we're talking about here...Best Regards, - Shaking into the night... Guest guest
Oh it is not dangerous at all. and you hAVE raised iron quite a bit over this time so MAYBE you will be fine and not make too much RT3 now. But this si a guess. Many of us go right back to making too much RT3 and that is not a guess. Guest guest
Hi Val Thanks for the reply. Does it always take that long (6-8 weeks)? I suppose I will have to wait 6 weeks to add any more then. So any initial improvement now is probably from the T3 in the naturethroid, right? Thanks Liz > > Hi everyone > > I am trying to add a little bit of naturethroid back into my T3 regimen, now that I am having some luck with a paleo type of diet > > Now I am on 60 mcg of T3 plus 1/2 grain of naturethroid. Speaking of rT3 conversion and all... The biggest potential problem with sitting on 2 grains is being under medicated considering that the normal range for people to feel well is 3 to 5 grains (see STTM) and that 65 of T3 is equivalent to 2.5 grains if you are converting will, equivalent to more grains if you don't convert well. Guest guest
Thanks for chippin' in here Nick..Yeah, I don't feel that 2 grains is all that much either, and my blood samples don't show that I am hyper. But I could have problems tolerating 2 grains of ERFA Thyroid due to low Ferritin. It's only 31. WILL FERRITIN SINK IF I DRAW TOO MUCH BLOOD TOO OFTEN??? As you know, I've done blood samples quite often in the past year or so. Trying to find out what's up/what's wrong with me!I just got electrolytes from yesterday: Sodium 140, Potassium 4.2, they all look fine! So I am not shaking (my main symptom right now) because of that! Why do You recon I am "vibrating" Nick? :\ It's mainly in my legs, mostly right, but also in the rest of my body..Hertoghes assistant told me to quite taking 5 mcg T3 before bedtime, so I did, last night. Don't notice much difference today other than I feel a bit more hypo today than I did yesterday. I do think I need more ERFA Thyroid, but something is causing me to shake! :pDon't know if it's dangerous to shake but it doesn't feel good. My Hematocrit is up to 54 (getting higher) and I have a 17.5 Hemoglobin, and a lot of reds. So I am NOT anemic!Maybe Hertoghe is right.. Maybe I just need to correct all my hormones (Growth, DHEA, etc.) before the Thyroid hormones will start working properly again. Such a puzzle... >, with your level of experience, how dangerous would you say it is to be on 2 grains of ERFA Thyroid, considering this is 20% T3 and 80% T4 roughly? Ferritin of 31 says you have either cleared what was causing a false high and inflammation or have lost a lot of iron through being more hypo since your thyroid dose has been dropped by Dr H (or some combination of both). Donating 0.5 litre of blood to the blood transfusion service will lower Ferritin. New info from Val recently says that a " false high " on Ferritin can be looked at from the % saturation figure, anything less than 35% is of concern, Nick
