Guest guest
I am not a mod, but what happens is that if your adrenals cannot handle the amount of t3 you are taking, the t3 pools in the blood and doesn't get into the cells, so that's why the temps don't go up. Also, ferritin is not the sole indicator anymore we have learned of iron status. You need a full iron panel which shows serum iron, TIBC and % saturation. Ferritin can look high due to inflammation. Yo may have gone past your " sweet spot " on the t3 dose while the receptors were still blocked and so it's so hard on the adrenals that the 40 HC is not enough. If you lower your dose the stress will ease up and hopefully then the t3 will get into your cells. Kathleen > > Moderators, > > I am trying to understand the difference. Guest guest
Not sure how I missed my 'sweet spot' when I have been going so slow upon my increases. I cut back down to 80 as Val suggested. I do feel much better. I know about the iron and had the full panel done, it was fine and don't need to take iron anymore. I have been trying to use my temps as an indicator that I am getting T3 into my cells, but I can't seem to budge past 98.0F. I did the electrolytes and they were a little off on the potassium and Val indicated to get the levels back up. Maybe that is causing my issues of not getting my temps up? - > > > > Moderators, > > > > I am trying to understand the difference. Guest guest
When temps don't go up on the T3 treatment and you are sure the adrenals and iron are good, it is time to check ou tthe sex hormones. Low progesterone can cause low temps too! http://www.nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.faqhelp.webs.com/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ > Not sure how I missed my 'sweet spot' when I have been going so slow upon my increases. Guest guest
I see a doctor tomorrow on starting on a new protocol for my sex hormones. I do not have my sex hormones labs in front of me, but he told me my testesterone was tanked and needed it. He told me my progesterone was a little low and he would increase it. Though I am taking 100mg of progesterone a day. This is the most interesting. I had a complete hysterectomy so I don't have any ovaries. He checked my FSH, SHBG and Estradiol. He said the Estradiol was enough, though I told him it doesnt' seem like I have enough estrogen. so he checked the FSH and SHBG and told me he never seen anyone with such high values before. He said if I have the right balance of hormones, my FSH should be turned off. But the high SHBG is keeping me from utilizing my sex hormones. He says he thinks the high SHBG is from not having enough testerone. > >> > >>> Moderators, > >>> > >>> I am trying to understand the difference. Guest guest
High SHBG is nto from low anythign it is from high T3 or high estrogen or high testosterone and it binds al three. Thus you need top of range toal levels ot compensate when you are takign T3 only as that will raise SHBG and thus we nened a bit more of the sex hormoens than when we were hypo. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I see a doctor tomorrow on starting on a new protocol for my sex hormones. Guest guest
This is great. Exactly what I needed to understand this. > > > I see a doctor tomorrow on starting on a new protocol for my sex hormones. Guest guest
But Lee, when I started supplementing testosterone, my SHBG went a LOT higher and my D.O.M. said it was from taking testosterone. I alwasy thought only estrogen raised SHBG. (In fact, I used to go to a doctor who only used SHBG to determine estrogen status, which I now realize is NOT an accurate way to do things.) At any rate, when my SHBG shot up, I wasn't even on any t3 back then or very, very tiny dose, like 18.75, and it went from 54 to 99, so I don't think it was the t3 increasing it. And I had been on natural PG topical for several years with no increase of SHBG either, so the only culprit was the testosterone that I can think of. Now, of course, all my t3 can be increasing it. In fact, I had to double the amount of testosterone I was using. Kathleen > > > I see a doctor tomorrow on starting on a new protocol for my sex hormones.
