Cytomel side effects - stomach cramping

Hi Everyone - I rarely have stomach cramping/loose stools but since I started

10mcg of Cytomel yesterday that's been happening with me. It seems so unlikely

a measely 10mcg could do that...and, yet, the cause and effect seems so possible

(the symptoms started several hours after taking my 2nd pill yesterday).

I just Googled " Cytomel side effects " and see that those symptoms are possible

with this med.

Anyone else experience this on a low dose?

If it does turn out to be the case that its the med that's causing this, what

would be the next best T3 med for me to try?

I'm doing a lower dose than that and still having issues. I have ibs from firbro so its hard to say it came from the cytomel. I just can't get this stuff regulated. I'm snapping ppls heads off or i'm crashing.I am taking adrenal stuff and I woke with the adrenal rush. So I went and took the adrenal (glands freeze dried) that the doc told me to get. Hi Jen

I just started cytomel 3 weeks ago. My first two doses cause immediate diarrhea,

and that dose was only 2.5 mcg----a tiny dose!

It did get better as I got used to the drug.

Thanks Cindy, and Dawn for the confirmation that this could, indeed,

be due to the Cytomel. And, good to hear that it gets better :-)

Constipation is such a classic symptom of hypo, it makes sense that the reverse

might happen when a body starving for T3 finally gets some. I've read several

posts from people who've had this, and most of them report it resolves itself

fairly quickly (or a non-T3 cause is found). I feel a slightly slower taper up

than usually recommended may be useful if one is T3-sensitive in this way.

Thanks for your input too, Margery. I absolutely will taper up slowly. And,have an appt to talk to my Naturopath next week -- will see how "on board"I can get her to be about all this! :-) Re: Cytomel side effects - stomach cramping
