Guest guest
> > >i am curious about how you are able to cut this tiny med in 4 pieces, and also get your opinion on simply dividing the dosage in two... Dividing in 2 is easy, some brands of tablet are easier than others to divide in 4. You may well have to increase again soon and that's the time to add more half tablets. If your adrenals are very healthy then twice a day can be fine, a lot of us have marginal adrenals though Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
If the odse is small , twice a day dosing is fine, but if yu are trying ot clear RT3 there are several htings ot consider. Firts you shoudl nto be on iodine is trying to clear Rt3, or if oyu have any adrneal problems, or if you have Hashi's. It si contraindicated for any of those things. A 25mcg dose is nto a good dose to STAY on, htough it is fine to begin wiht. Most of us here need 75-100mcg to get unhypo and clear RT3 wiht a few exceptions needing 50 or so just ot clear RT3,and thos of us that are very resistance liek Nick & myself that need 125-150mcg. >> >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> http://faqhelp.webs.com/ >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >> http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ >> > this is for either nick or valerie... > > i have hashi's and was prescribed armour, took for a month, and after new blood tests, my doctor has taken me off of armour and has me on 25 mcg of cytomel (along with iodine) > > i read on nick's site that he recommends dosing 4x a day, my doc has me taking 2 doses a day....even with just dividing the table (using a pill cutter) there is a tendency for the medication to crumble somewhat... > > i am curious about how you are able to cut this tiny med in 4 pieces, and also get your opinion on simply dividing the dosage in two... > > i've only been on this treatment for a week and i'm already getting some symptomatic relief..although sleep seems a bit worse (hasn't been 'good' in years, so its hard to tell) > > thanks to you both and everyone on the forum! > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
hi val... i'm sorry i missed this until just today... i am very confused about the iodine issue... i took the iodine loading test and my test came back as extremely deficient...in the low 20's (btw, i had the adrenal saliva test and the results were ok) if an individual is has an iodine DEFICIENCY with hashi's, should not the deficiency be addressed? this seems very counter-intuitive to me the first week i was on the cytomel at 25 cmg some of the hypo symptoms were lessening...(coldness, extreme fatigue and brain fog) i have not upped the dosage yet...is there a specific titrating protocol that is recommended to get one up to the 75 to 100 dosage? additionally, once you get to the dosage level to clear the RT3, how long do you remain on that dosage... thanks again > > this is for either nick or valerie... > > > > i have hashi's and was prescribed armour, took for a month, and after new blood tests, my doctor has taken me off of armour and has me on 25 mcg of cytomel (along with iodine) > > > > i read on nick's site that he recommends dosing 4x a day, my doc has me taking 2 doses a day....even with just dividing the table (using a pill cutter) there is a tendency for the medication to crumble somewhat... > > > > i am curious about how you are able to cut this tiny med in 4 pieces, and also get your opinion on simply dividing the dosage in two... > > > > i've only been on this treatment for a week and i'm already getting some symptomatic relief..although sleep seems a bit worse (hasn't been 'good' in years, so its hard to tell) > > > > thanks to you both and everyone on the forum! > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Thyroid hormones are made of iodine molecules that si what the 3 and 4 stand for in T3 and T4. SO when you take ENOUGH thyroi dto get unhypo you will have enough iodine. Iodine stimulates the thyhyroid gland to produce T4 which si why the bpdy does wiht iodine when it comesinto it. So when you have Hashi's oyu so NOT want the thyroid stikulated and especially wiht RT3 it will create even more of it from the T4 it makes. There si a dosing ramp up on the Rt3 website that Nick put up for us http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > > > hi val... > > i'm sorry i missed this until just today... > > i am very confused about the iodine issue... > > i took the iodine loading test and my test came back as extremely deficient...in the low 20's (btw, i had the adrenal saliva test and the results were ok) > > if an individual is has an iodine DEFICIENCY with hashi's, should not the deficiency be addressed? this seems very counter-intuitive to me > > the first week i was on the cytomel at 25 cmg some of the hypo symptoms were lessening...(coldness, extreme fatigue and brain fog) > > i have not upped the dosage yet...is there a specific titrating protocol that is recommended to get one up to the 75 to 100 dosage? > > additionally, once you get to the dosage level to clear the RT3, how long do you remain on that dosage... > > thanks again > > >> >>> this is for either nick or valerie... >>> >>> i have hashi's and was prescribed armour, took for a month, and after new blood tests, my doctor has taken me off of armour and has me on 25 mcg of cytomel (along with iodine) >>> >>> i read on nick's site that he recommends dosing 4x a day, my doc has me taking 2 doses a day....even with just dividing the table (using a pill cutter) there is a tendency for the medication to crumble somewhat... >>> >>> i am curious about how you are able to cut this tiny med in 4 pieces, and also get your opinion on simply dividing the dosage in two... >>> >>> i've only been on this treatment for a week and i'm already getting some symptomatic relief..although sleep seems a bit worse (hasn't been 'good' in years, so its hard to tell) >>> >>> thanks to you both and everyone on the forum! >>> >>> >>> >>> ------------------------------------ >>> >>> We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Val I have hashi's and this brings up a question I have. I stopped taking iodine a year ago when I found out it wasn't good for my condition but what about salt with iodine in it or sea salt?<<Posted by: " T" artisticgroomer@... valharlyTue Jul 20, 2010 5:59 pm (PDT)Thyroid hormones are made of iodine molecules that si what the 3 and 4 stand for in T3 and T4. Guest guest
Unrefined sea salt has such minute traces of iodine as to really not matter. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Val I have hashi's and this brings up a question I have. Guest guest
I had to cut way back on my T3 recently to heal my adrenals but I'm confused about dosing. I am taking 1 1/2 pills which I take half when I wake up and 4-5 hours later take another half and then half before bed. This seems to be working okay, I don't feel bad at all during the day but I feel anxious when I take my bedtime pill. I have trouble sleeping anyway but if I can fall to sleep right away I sleep good until I wake up a few hours later.
Guest guest
No, every time I've tried to take HC I get sever headaches from taking it and get a bunch of side effects. > This seems to be working okay, I don't feel bad at all during the day but I feel anxious when I take my bedtime pill. I have trouble sleeping anyway but if I can fall to sleep right away I sleep good until I wake up a few hours later. This sounds like low night time cortisol resulting in adrenaline production. Are you on adrenal support?? Guest guest
Nick,Is a sign of having low cortisol being able to drink coffee? I don't drink tons of it all day long but after I drink one or two cups a few hours after waking up I'm feeling a whole lot better. I have Isocort but the last time I tried to take it I had a reaction from taking it. What do you suggest I do? I have a saliva test kit sitting in front of me, which I should take but really hate doing it, until I can take it and get the results back I am feeling really bad. I'd like to do something in the mean time to help. Another thing is allergies, I'm suffering big time with these right at the moment. > This seems to be working okay, I don't feel bad at all during the day but I feel anxious when I take my bedtime pill.
