Guest guest
Hey ladies. I know it's been a while since I've written, but I've been reading and trying to stay caught up. I saw a couple of recent e-mails re: SU resection and whether or not it's worth it, and thought I would give an update on my situation. I had a m/c at 13-14 weeks in April 2004 due to a SU. I had a lap/hyst in November 2004 to remove the septum. I was told resection was successful. I did not have a follow up HSG. I got pregnant pretty much right away (LMP 12-25-04). I started out having some spotting that lasted on and off from 6-12 weeks. Pretty scary as that was how my first pregnancy had started out as well. I had two ultrasounds in those first 12 weeks, and everything looked good (one at the peri). I went in for my level 2 ultrasound at 18 weeks with the peri and everything still looked good, but they set me up for one more ultrasound to check my cervix. At my 20 week ultrasound, they cleared me and said I don't have to go back to the peri. So I am 23w2d and everything seems to be going well with my little boy. I feel pretty good that everything is going to turn out okay this time. I really feel that this pregnancy has been successful because of my resection. I really do feel it is worth going thru the surgery. I don't think I could have forgiven myself if I hadn't had the surgery and I had gone on to have another m/c. I know everyone is different though, and some women have had successful pregnancies without being resected. Anyway, just my rambles. Hope everyone is doing well. Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for sharing your story. It is so nice to be able to hear other people's stories and to know that I am not alone. I had an MRI tonight and I guess my Dr. will make his recommendation on SU resection within the next few days. I think I am leaning towards surgery for the same reason as you...if something goes wrong with a future pregnancy, I will always blame myself.... Jen PG after SU resection (m/c, pg ment.) Hey ladies.
