Di, With me, usually the heat comes on and then I can't breathe, so I get up, potty, get tea and go sit in the recliner until I can get up and going. After the tea, I usually have to keep getting up. Some days are easier than others -- especially easier when the weather is warmer.

Guest guest
I'm not in a fog, but I have to force myself to get out of bed EVERYDAY!! It's always such a struggle to get moving. For me, there's no easy answer--I just have to push myself. The final decision is usually that 'nature is calling'--then I have no choice. I hate PLS, too. Guest guest
Yes! If it were not for the urgent bladder thing...I might not get up at all in the morning! Ha! Here is what I do: After the painful struggle to get out of bed, I put on my S.A.D. light, which is at my computer. It really does help. I use it for 45 mins each mornig....in between stratching/falling/stretching etc. Then i have a strong cup of coffee to overcome the meds (sleepiness). I answer my emails and check out the group. All the while....fighting those 'thoughts' that seem to intrude....you know the ones.....Some days I can 'kick-start my thinking' into taking one step at a time....especially if I have something specific to do. That seems to help. Like you, I have to FORCE my thoughts away from the " whats the use " and just DO something.....but I guess the time of year isn't helpful. January is a yuck month. Hey maybe I should get on the site as soon as i get up and send some encouragement...that might help me too! Hmmmmm You are right...PLS sucks......lets find a cure! good idea! I am lobbying friends for more 'pennies'...in the form of large checks! Ha ha. HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Di...............Canada > > I'm not in a fog, but I have to force myself to get out of bed EVERYDAY!! > It's always such a struggle to get moving. Guest guest
I agree. Warm weather really helps the morning part. Unfortunately...I live in the north...but our weather has been warmer than usual. I may have the problem solved. My purebred Black Lab pup arrives tomorrow! I have raised lots of dogs...but I hope my daughters come thru with their promise of help with this one! He should get me up in the morning! Ha! I have him booked for pup training next month....then next year ...I have located a service dog trainer. So...that's the plan. But anyway...right now he is all legs, paws and goofy grin! So....maybe this will help me to get up!! Hugs!
