I meant that I should start with 12.5mg of cytomel and cut down 1 g. on thyroid..........

My new results are this:

-FT3: 4.5

-FT4: 1.3 (.8--1.8)

-RT3: 405

-Thyroid antibodies: 80 (<25)

-Iron 108 (50--200)

-Ferritin 106 (10--291)

-Cortisol AM (blood): 20 (5--25)

-Vit D3: 37

I know my RT3 is too high; the doc said to start with 12.5mg mid-day and cut down on my thyroid (dessicated) to 1 grain/day (currently 2 grains). Also definitely need to increase Vit D. He said my iron is fine??

Thsi may help but I don;t knwo if it si a certain fix., Some of us need

to get tall the T4 ou t of our bodies to not make too much RT3.

, I am reading some of the other posts: I am uncertain if you mean I should stop completely all thyroid meds? I am on nature thyroid now and just ordered 3 bottles of ERFA which I am reading contains 80% T4 so now am concerned.........so basically you don't believe the cytomel will work if I continue to take nature-thyroid or ERFA? The doctor said to take 12.5mg of cytomel, do I just take this for the next 3 months until I see him again? When do you suggest retesting? Also do you feel my iron is ok at 108 (50--100) and ferritin at 106 (10-291)?? Thank you ............

No you would not just take that HORRID low dose of T3. First you need

to start wiht replacing the T3 in the ERFA you shoudl be stopping, for

every grain of ERFA there is 9mcg T3. Then wihtin a WEEK you would need

to start raising that T3 to cover the T4 you are nto taking any more ,

most of us end upon 75-100mcg T3. It usually takes 11-12 weeks to clear

RT3 from the receptors and it clears from the bLOOD much faster than

this, we have a website that Nick did for us that is very helpful in
