Some people have good results with ferrous sulfate, it is recommended on STTM:

I should mention, though that we've had posts from some folks that the ferrous

sulfate was really hard on their stomachs.

We have heard more good reports on the Blue Bonnet than we have had on any

other, that's why we recommend it here.
