Hi , I just listened to you on talkshoe last night and you said you

should be on HC for 2wks before starting t3. I had been taking thyroid hormone

from compounding chemist since 18.6.10, I had got to 210mg and had added 25mg t3

by the 19.8.10, (this was before I had my saliva cortisol results back.) I had

thyroid blood tests done 19/8/10 which were TSH <0.01 (0.40-4.00) Ft4 27

(9.0-19.0) Ft3 11.3(2.6-5.7) & RT3 773 (140-540) ratio FT3/RT3 1.46. My temps

were still low and still had hypo symptoms. My cortisol levels were low so GP

agreed to HC, am taking 20mg (10 5 5) 19/8 I stopped taking thyroid hormone(ie

T4 T3) and am now taking T3 only 100mg. My ferritin was 50 in May, but when I

went for my (14th) iron infusion 20/8 my ferritin had risen to 184, my iron

store were low so the pathologist said I could have 3 amps, said it could have

gone up because I'd had the flu, I'd never had this happen before - I will get

my ferritin checked again in 2wks. Is it detrimental that I didn't take the HC

by itself for the 2wks? Do I just continue taking the T3 and should I increase

it any further or wait until the RT3 have cleared? The GP I go to is happy to

read any information I give him, which is great. My sister who is a doctor has

similar problems, hers have been going a lot longer, but hopefully she can get

the right treatment soon. I'm so grateful for the help that you and others are

giving, so that people like myself can find so much helpful information. Do you

suggest rechecking FT3 & RT3 levels again? Thanks so much for you help.
