Guest guest
Hello All~ Happy Holidays to everyone celebrating this time of year. Have been TTC for 1.5 years and I recently had a couple of diagnoses and I am trying to get more information on and NOWHERE is better than this group of ladies! Although these items aren't specific to mullerian anomalies I thought someone out there might have some experience with this. I was recently diagnosed with Low Thyroid and Type 2 Diabetes. My low thyroid is caused by THYROID ANTIBODIES and this has probably caused the Type 2 Diabetes. I am now on meds for both. Although my RE said I was " NORMAL " on tests, I was able to find a doctor in my area who was a little more open-minded and I see from my own results that I have a problem. I understand from research that the thyroid antibodies can cause infertility and give women a greater chance for miscarriage. It's not that you don't ovulate, necessarily, it's that your body doesn't really work right some other way that you wouldn't notice as a problem and a fertilized egg never implants properly. My luteal phase is somewhat short, as is common with the thyroid problem. Does anyone out there know anything more about this? Can the medication I'm taking (Armour for Thyroid and Metformin for Diabetes) help with the fertility? And would it help with the elevated miscarriage possibility? I am now thinking that this has been a problem all along, even though my RE and other doctors have pronounced me " FINE " before. Thanks for any input anyone can provide!
