Guest guest
Hi Ladies, It's been quite some time since I've posted here, but I used to post quite frequently. I found out I had a mullerian anomaly during my first pregnancy that ultimately ended at 17 weeks on February 12, 2004. I was dx'd at having a bicornuate uterus via u/s, then as having a slightly arcuate uterus with a subseptum via MRI and told to ttc again, but I sought a second and a third opinion and it was finally decided that I should have surgery to remove the septum. It was very solid and wide and took up much room in my uterus. It was non-maleable, so wouldn't have moved out of the way in any future pregnancies. I had the septum removed on July 29, 2004 and wound up pregnant again in October, only to have an early m/c at 5 weeks. After that m/c, my period took FOREVER to come, and I eventually figured out why...I was pregnant! My pregnancy was difficult, and I was put on bed rest at 18 weeks, and then my bedrest was moved from moderate to strict at 23 weeks. I was able to hold on and stall labor until I was exactly 36 weeks pregnant and had a beatufil baby girl who weighed 7lb. 1oz and was 18.5 inches long. She had some difficulties eating, and had to stay in the hospital for a week until she learned how to suck, but other than that she's been in perfect health. I wanted to share that there are success stories out there! I was put on bedrst because it turned out I also have a weak cervix. This is apparently something that is very common in those of us with mullerian anomalies. My cervix funnelled (effaced) internally, starting at 18 weeks and by my 32nd week I was totally effaced! I wanted to also share so that everyone knows to be sure their doctors watch them for incompetent cervix...regardless of your class of anomaly. I never thought I would be able to have a child, due to the septum, PCOS, endometriosis, incompetent cervix, and a MTHFR mutation, but I did. I wish all of you woh are trying luck, and a big hug to those of you who have angels. Guest guest
Jasmine - Congratulations! That is so wonderful!! I was thinking about you the other week and was wondering how your pregnancy was progressing. I am so happy for you! You really give us all hope! I'm sure you remember, you were the one who saw my post on FF and pointed me over here in July 04 (when I had my m/c and they told me I was BU). I had that diagnoses for some time, and I finally switched to a RE in June when I wasn't getting pregnant and I still didn't trust the BU diagnosis. June 05 I had an HSG finally (had an MRI in Nov. 04), and the RE said 'SU!' I had my first resection in July 05, and had to have a second one 10/10 (so just over 2 weeks ago). I had a very large, broad septum, that took up almost the entire uterus cavity from the view on the HSG. She cut both times until it started bleeding more, the first surgery removed about 1/3 of the septum, she cut more the second surgery, so I'm praying that at least 2/3 of it is gone. She said that she didn't cut quite as much as she wanted. But she went to a medical conference last week and discussed my case, and they all agreed that what is left is definitely vascular and I should ttc again (vs 3rd surgery that we were very worried about having). So I will have a follow-up HSG beginning of December just to take a look, but we are actually going to start ttc again in November. You really do give me so much hope! Again, congratulations on Laila!!! > > Hi Ladies, > > It's been quite some time since I've posted here, but I used to post > quite frequently. Guest guest
Hey Jasmine-- Congratulations on the birth of Laila!! Welcome to the world Laila!! Thank you for sharing both your news and your story. I am sorry to hear the beginning was a little tough for your little girl, but it sounds like she is doing well and you have much to be thankful for. Especially after all you have been through. I remember you well--we spoke several times a ways back. I am so glad that you are okay. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant with my little girl, and hoping and praying that all works out--my c-section is scheduled for 4 weeks from Friday (the day after Thanksgiving)-following an ultrasound to check for lung maturity. So far things have been going fine. Take care-- Jen > > Hi Ladies, > > It's been quite some time since I've posted here, but I used to post > quite frequently.
