In the last few weeks, I've been reading back through the archives

(wow - so many posts, and Beth, thank you again for bringing us all

together!). I noticed every now and again, reference was made to the

connection between women with MAs and auditory disorders.

I have an iPod that I listen to whenever I work out. About a week

ago (right around the first time I saw a lot of discussion on the

MA/auditory discussion), I realized that the headphones seemed louder

in one ear than in the other. Took the right earbud out, put the

left one in . . . ok, left side came in loud and clear. Took the

left earbud out, put the right one in. . .everything was a little

softer, a little muffled. Hmmm. . . Aha! I thought. That

auditory / MA thing must be right!

Last night, I started telling my husband about the MA/auditory

connection, and that I had noticed how I wasn't hearing all that well

in my right ear, and yes, I was sure it wasn't ear wax :P How

interesting! Should I mention it to my doc? Should I have my

hearing evaluated?

Until my husband pointed out that perhaps it was the right EARBUD

that was defective, not my right EAR. Sure enough, when I put the

left bud in my right ear, I could hear it just fine.

Thank god for the voice of reason!
