Guest guest
Many people take their Cytomel sublingually, so don't have to worry about timing it around the iron. Most T3's dissolve pretty quickly under the tongue, and have very little flavor. I did have one U.S.-made brand that was rock-hard; I had to crumble it up a little before I put it under my tongue. Moderator Nick's website mentions sublingual dosing, here's a link: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/interact.htm There are several forms of iron, we've seen best results with iron bisglycinate, here's links to two good ones: http://www.iherb.com/Bluebonnet-Nutrition-Chelated-Iron-90-Vcaps/11571?at=0 and http://www.amazon.com/Solgar-Gentle-Iron-veggie-caps/dp/B00013Z0QA/ref=sr_1_1?ie\ \ =UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1283475771&sr=8-1 We recommend 150-200 mg of elemental iron daily, taken in two separate doses. Taking iron at the same time as some Vitamin C will help iron absorption. (Starting a lot of iron can sometimes cause digestive upset; I started low and tapered up to the recommended dose over about 2 weeks.) We also recommend an " iron panel " test, in addition to the ferritin test. (Because the ferritin test result can sometimes be falsely high from inflammation or other causes). The iron panel will show % saturation, which should be 35-45 for best thyroid utilization. Hope this helps. > > Back in July I had some more bloodwork which continued to show my Rt3 ratios at Ft3/Rt3 2.6/287 or 9.1 (s/b 20 or higher I understand) and my T3/Ft3 another time at 141/308 or 4.6 (s/b 4.6 or higher) . > > After being on Naturethroid for 4 mos and not being able to raise w/out more fibro pain, I decided to try t3 only. > > My question is , is it normal to feel a great increase in heartbeat as we increase t3? While my pulse seems okay even at 75, sometimes up to 90, I can feel it very strongly throughout my body. > > I also know that my ferritin is low and always has been. I have an rx for iron to supplement. Do we need to really space that out from t3 like you do Naturethroid? > > Thanks, > Jeanne > > ps/. I am also feeling more hypo today , even my face is showing it with eye swelling, but want to proceed slowly in raising t3.
