Guest guest
>So, do most people here take their basal temp orally or under the arm pit? Is the 98.2 temp an oral temp or is it a corrected under arm temp? Personally I use oral, the settling time is less. The temperature range suggested by is The normal underarm temperature averages 97.8-98.2 degrees F oral would be a little higher. The " 3 times a day average " is oral only. Guest guest
>what should our oral basal temp be? > From http://thyroid-rt3.com/temperat.htm Oral temps are just that, temperatures taken at any time during the day by mouth. They follow a cycle through the day with a peak in the afternoon to early evening before falling again in preparation for sleep. Val's go like this when I she not hypo and is functioning well 5AM 98.2 10am 98.4 2PM 98.6 6PM 98.8-99 8PM 98.4 10PM 98.2 Post ovulation temperature will be a little higher. Guest guest
If my basal temps were 98.8 I w0ould be climbing on the roof. And I take my temps orally ALL the time. 98.2 is perfect for me for ORAL basal temp. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I've always wondered about this b/c oral is .5 degress higher than armpit. This is known fact, I am pretty sure, as any woman trying to get pregnant knows. So that means an oral basal would be 98.2 to 98.8! This doesn't seem to make sense, that our optimal basal " could " be so high, higher than our daily average is supposed to be, does it? In fact, Dr. Browstein even states that the basal for armpit would be 97.8-98.2 degrees F, but that ORAL basal would 98.2 to 98.8. (Not that I trust him on his iodine protocol, but what he says about the basal readings makes sense.) I am going to try this experiment myself and see what happens. > > But WHY would a normal oral basal be so high?? > > Kathleen > >> Personally I use oral, the settling time is less. >> >> The temperature range suggested by is The normal underarm >> temperature averages oral would be a little >> higher. >> >> The " 3 times a day average " is oral only. >> >> Nick >> > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Maybe the basal range stretching up to " normal " was deliberate??
