Guest guest
Boy, Jen, we really are in the same boat right now! We'll have to compare notes along the way. I didn't realize you were so new to the MA " club! " Glad that you found this board! > Just out of curiosity, with your first son, did you know that you were > UU when you took clomid? I did know about my UU. I had had a m/c after getting pregnant very quickly. That m/c was followed up be an unsuccessful and frustrating year of ttc. I started charting and figured out that I wasn't ovulating or if I was, was having a short luteal phase. My OB agreed to start me on clomid, but wanted to do an HSG first to be sure that my tubes were not blocked. We were all pretty surprised about my UU. At that point, I stayed with my OB and she started me on the clomid (the lowest dose.) We got pregnant with 3 cycles later. My RE is hesitant to give that to me because > of my UU and the high chance of twins. I know...I'm petrified of this and absolutely will not consider reduction. My RE wanted to increase my dose this last month and I refused at this point. I just m/ced again in February and am pretty sure that it was a twin pregnancy (kinda sketchy on a few details.) But, I was also on clomid that time. For now, we're kind of going on blind faith and are doing a lot of monitoring with the RE. > We have been TTC for about 14 months > now....how about you? It took us 2 years with DD. In all, we're at about 16 months this time, but for part of that I was b'feeding, so my cycles were pretty sporadic. I started clomid in December of '04 and got pregnant after 2 cycles. As I mentioned, I had the m/c in Feb. We've been trying again since May and will be starting my 4th consecutive clomid cycle on Sunday. > I didn't know about my UU until a few weeks ago. Can you believe that > my OB didn't even see it when he did my c section? No! Wow! Not that I've seen to many uteri up close (hee...hee...) but, you'd think that it would be pretty obvious. That's wild! How did you find out about the UU? HSG? > That is funny that my DD and your DS are so close in age! I know...isn't this a wild age? Such a mix of unbelievable cuteness and temper tantrums!! I love the talking, though. My DS has been kind of a late talker, but is starting to be a real chatterbox recently. It is so much fun! My pregnancy > ended at 32W 6D due to PTL / PPROM. My PTL started about 2 weeks before > my water broke. I had PTL, too, starting at 18 weeks (very mild and irregular contractions.) It totally escalated by 26 weeks...contractions that we 2 minutes apart by the time we got to the hospital. We thought he was coming then, but with bedrest and many, many drugs we held him off until 36 weeks. > She stayed in the NICU for about 2 weeks and is > very healthy. Awesome! Such miracles, aren't they? > I am nervous about a second. I think that if I knew that I had a UU > prior to having her, I might have been too afraid to get pregnant. Now > I am hoping not only to be lucky enough to get pregnant, but to at least > be able to stay pregnant for as long as I was last time. I'm pretty scared, too. I've also been given the whole " stretched out uterus " line and am hoping that will hold true. I'm very concerned about my cervix now that I've had 2 d&cs and a vag delivery in the past 3 years. There is so much that they can do for PTL, though, and I'm a firm believer in bedrest. Now that you know about your UU and how you did with a past pregnancy, you can prepare yourself and be very proactive. Guess we just need to stay positive! Definitely keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. Will you be starting the progesterone soon? If so, see if your insurance covers Crinone...the girls on the other board really reccommended that I push for it and despite the yucky side effects, I'm glad that I did. My OB didn't think that it was necessary, but my RE gives it to all of his IF patients. What is your REs game plan? Keep me posted!
