Guest guest
Hi Amber, Congratulations!!! NO GO LIE DOWN AND DO NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! It would be great if you could just sleep on and off for the next few days (And keep the hot laptop computer off your belly, if you use one!) There isnt much difference between grade 1 and 2. Was it an emotional experience for you? I was very teary through the whole thing. And did they give you a picture of your embryo!??? Have your husband go out and buy you a boat-load of pineapple. 1 a day- you can do it! I recommend really keep VERY quiet over the next few weeks. Do as little as possible -- have your husband do all the chores. Im saying many prayers for implantation!!!!! Go embryo!!! xoox Heidi > > > BT is on 10/11. > > still feeling stiff and sore in tummy from ovarian > stimulation. hoping it will pass. > > all the best > > amber > uu with rud horn > > > > > __________________________________ > Yahoo! Guest guest
Heidi Yes, it was emotional when i saw the little embie on the video screen but i blocked out the emotion because i get so embarassed crying in front of my doctors and didn't want to break down (particularly with my legs wide open and my doctor and a scientist standing in between my legs and peering inside me). i woke up from the EPU crying and was very emotional after that. i am trying to stay in control cause i've got heaps on at work right now and just can't afford to lose it. i have observed that many US IVF patients are prescribed bed rest after ET. In Australia, we are told that the embryo is like a seed in a jam sandwich and it just won't fall out and that we can resume normal activitites sraight away (but we're told to be mindful of the tender ovaries and encouraged to " take it easy " for that reason). what is the actual position in the US? i started on the pineapple the other week and have had three halves. i've never heard of the pineapple thing - is it a widely accepted practice amongst IVF'ers in the US? thanks for your email and well wishes. amber --- Heidi Thermenos heidi_thermenos@...> wrote: > Hi Amber, > Congratulations!!! Guest guest
Dear Amber, It is such an emotional experience. I do want you to take it easy if you can and dont run around like a mad-woman trying to get your work done (how important can your work really be, by comparison, for these next few weeks?). Can you work from home? My docs said do nothing for 3-4 days if possible- which I did (actually i did nothing for the enire first trimester except sit, no lifting no nothing), however, they stated while there was no clear scientific evidence it would make a difference, it couldnt hurt (and at the cost, you want to do everything you can). I would also not excercise for the next few weeks until your blood test. I think the jam sandwich idea is a bit optimistic- implantation rates arent THAT high- you are still fighting the fact that implantation is a somewhat random process. If it were being done on women who didnt have challenges- maybe it would indeeed be a seed in a jam sandwich. But thats not the plight of the MA person. The pineapple thing- pineapple contains bromelain which is an enzyme that could possibly aid in implantation process- i think it is a little bit of thing among IVFers in US - i can tell you i know 4 people who ate a pineapple a day during the 2 week wait who got pregnant on the first IVF try... Many prayers to you, go embie! Heidi > > --- Heidi Thermenos heidi_thermenos@...> > wrote: > > > Hi Amber, > > Congratulations!!! NO GO LIE DOWN AND DO > > NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
