Hi Ladies -

Does anyone have any success stories about pregnancies with first

trimester bleeding episodes? How common is this problem?

I had my septum resected in February & I am now 8w4d pregnant.

When I was about 6w, I had a 1-day episode of brown spotting. They did

an ultrasound, saw the heartbeat and said everything looked fine. There

was some lingering, off & on residual brown discharge for the next week

& a half, but it seemed to be clearing up. Then this weekend, after

doing yard work (bad idea), I got a little crampy and when I went to

the bathroom there was a gush of red blood & a big clot! Of course I

freaked out! But since the bleeding did not continue, I didn't go to

the ER or anything.

I went in for an ultrasound today and everything looked fine, 8w4d and

a heartbeat. The doctor couldn't find any reason for the bleeding &

basically said he would just be guessing if he told me anything. He did

say that this sometimes could happen after a resection surgery - has

anyone ever heard that??? I did not have any bleeding during a previous

pg that lasted 18w.

I was in bicycle racing accident a few days before I found out I was

pregnant (at about 4 weeks), and had a very hard impact with the ground

(mild head injury, broken finger, numerous wounds & bruises) followed

by some xrays (I was shielded for these, and it was only my hand &

wrist) and drugs. Because of that I've been very concerned, and wonder

if the bleeding could have started then and has been gradually working

its way out. I'm grasping at straws here!

Sorry this is so long. Please share your stories on bleeding.

Thanks!

Cheryl, 31
