I've been sitting here since about 3 am wide awake and this is about the 3rd or

4th night that this has happened. My RT3 cleared around the middle or end of

May and after that, I added in some iron because I found out I was kind of low

with a value of 58. About two weeks after I started the iron I had way more

energy and started feeling so much better, more than I've felt in years and

sleeping better too.

Well about a week and a half ago, or maybe two weeks, I got a cold that started

as a headache and sore throat and then turned into a cough. I didn't think

anything of the cough until it persisted and moved deep into my chest. I was

starting to think I had bronchitis and was worried that I didn't stress dose

enough with HC. So I took some more and after a day or two the cough went away.

But since then, I've been completely messed up! I wasn't able to sleep at all

for two nights and then then the last three nights I've been up at 3 or 4 a.m.

Okay, I realize this is starting to sound adrenal related and may be more

appropriate for the adrenals group, however, for the time being, I need to know

if I should lower my T3. Right before I got sick, I was working my way up to

68.75 mcg. Afterwards, with the exception of the first am reading, I noticed my

bp was dropping every time I checked it and getting gradually lower througout

the day. And my pulse was over 100 sometimes too.

So I lowered T3 by 12.5 mcg and I'm not sure if it helped. BP is still dropping

although on occassion it goes up by about 7 pts. Pulse is much lower though.

Temps have been like this for the last few days:

6/21 98.47

6/23 98.53

6/24 98.87

6/26 98.77

6/28 99.07

7/3 98.7

7/4 98.6

7/5 98.5

7/6 99.2

7/7 98.73

I'm wondering if the cold used up all my corisol and now I can't tolerate much

T3 again. Or maybe I pushed the T3 too high and stressed my adrenals and that's

what caused the cold. At any rate, should I drop T3 down more to get my bp up

and temps stable? If so, how much more? Temps were averaging 98.6 before my

cold but more stable and some days a little higher. My lastest free T3 was 356

(range 230-420 pg/dL).

Sorry for the long post but I'm just feeling so desperate and really

disappointed about losing all the progress I had made. I have two small and

very patient children to care for and I'm SO TIRED of not being able to mother

them at full capacity. I thought I was making prgress wit the T3 and HC and that

they were going to be the answer for me but at this point, I'm just ready to

throw in the towel and resign to the fact that I will never be the same since

getting diagnosed with the dreaded Hashi's curse.

Anyway, thanks for reading and for any advice that you can give. I'm going back

to bed to stare at the ceiling. BTW, forgot to mention that PS, melatonin, and

tryptophan are not helping.
