Guest guest
I was just thinking last night that I'd have to post about the boring OB appointment I had yesterday. All went well...nothing too major to report. Today, however, was a bit more eventful! I had a few contractions last night...nothing too major, I've been having more and more lately, so I didn't think too much about it. I woke up a few times during the night with a sharp pain going across my lower abdomen. Each time, I got up, drank a glass of water, and it seemed to go away. By morning, I woke up with pretty intense cramping and lower back pain...sheesh! So, like a the true dummy that I can be, I got up with , got his breakfast, and got him dressed. (DH is " deathly " ill with a cold...don't get me going...!! We had a bit of a " chat " later on!) Anyway, I had the sitter come to get , so I didn't have to go out, and went back to bed (after drinking about a gallon of water.) I wasn't feeling too many distinct contractions, but obviously, something weird was going on. This was on and off all morning, so I finally decided to call my OB. She had me go into the hospital to be monitored. We spent the afternoon there...of course, the cramping subsided as soon as I arrived (why does that happen?) and I only had a few contractions while we were there. So, they sent me on my way with the whole, " come back any time you're concerned... " speech. They are guessing that I had been having some uterine irritability which left me feeling very sore and crampy, which sounds logical enough to me. I'm still feeling very sore, so apparently, my uterus and the muscles around it aren't all to pleased at this point. Plus, this child has been moving NONSTOP...seriously, the monitor on my tummy was actually moving up and down like crazy! Apparently, Jr. does not like the bands around my belly. So, I'm probably bruised from the inside!! No brethine, yet, but at this rate, I'm sure that will be coming pretty soon. Sigh! My OB says that she would like to hold off on the meds until 23-24 weeks if that's possible, but that we'll take it a day at a time. So, it looks like I'll be off of work for the rest of the school year. I was hoping that this pregnancy would be a bit more quiet!! Sorry this is so long...if you've made it this far, thanks for listening to my ramblings!! 21w, 1d
