I know the lab techs claim it is a tiny amount your body won't even miss, but I believe they DO add up and lower ferritin. Try asking if the lab tech can use the " pediatric " collection tubes, they are smaller. An example of this is pre- vs. post-menopausal women. They tell us that it's a relatively small amount of blood that is actually lost during a woman's period. Yet iron deficiency is MUCH more common among pre- women than post- women.
