Hi all,

I saw the two REs yesterday to get an interpretation of the MRI

images (after having a 3D u/s as well). Both confirmed a slight dip

in the top of the fundus and a vascular lining with possible slight

septum. Given that I carried twins to 20 weeks and one of them to 27

weeks with an excessive amount of amniotic fluid (polyhydramnios), it

seems more likely that I have a BU.

The RE that I like better (she looked at all of the images herself)

has recommended that we go ahead and ttc again, taking precautions

for a BU such as testing progesterone levels in the first trimester,

getting a cerclage and keeping my weight gain to the low end of the

acceptable range. I'm a little scared to have a late loss again, but

we're going forward with this (ttc as of today).

The other RE who doesn't have a great demeanor kind of brushed off my

MRI images, telling me that he didn't learn anything new. He only

looked at 4 images total from both the 3D u/s and MRI, while the

other doc looked at about 50+ herself. This RE, the one I don't like

as much, stated that he could do surgery to take off the end of the

septum, but that he wasn't sure how much it would benefit me since it

is vascular and accompanied by a BU dip. Fairly, he stated that my

case is in the middle ground from the start - meaning surgery could

or couldn't help- not clear.

So, now I'm going to look back through the posts for some positive BU

stories of having succesful pregnancies. Thanks to you all for your

advice.

Hi Laurie,

My name is aminah i too have a BU

Am not sure weither you have read any of my post's but just to give you some

hope am 34weeks 4days and doin fine. Ive had no previous M/C and i got pregnant

with no meds.

I got married in the october and was pregnant by the march time

I had no bleeding, just cramping (which is normal as the uterus stretches) i

did have Baaaad!!!!! morning sickness but i dont think that has much to do with

the BU.

1 thing is he's in a semi breeched/trensverse position

and his bum was affacing (sp?) last week but i wasnt having contractions but i

dialated 1 cm.

I am looking at a C-section but for a BU that isnt always the rule as i no 1

ladie who had 3 kids (all nateral no meds) 1st Nateral, 2nd C/Sect, 3rd Nateral,

also my doc was saying that she has been at many births with women who had BU

and they didnt even no until they had there 1st baba.. So dont feel to down.

The doc has told me he's a lil bit on the small side, but happy and healthy.

Has all the right things, in all the rights places, so am greatfull for that.

Really all there is wiv a BU, is usual 75% - 25% sizing (well thats in my case)

and he's in the 75% with a septum making it into 2 chambers.

I hope you feel a lil better now.

I know its tuff and im always watching his every move, i think me and heidi

always poking them lol to make sure they give us a lil wiggel, very reasuring

lol.

But the best thing is, is now u will get the monitoring for your next

pregnancy which can make all the difference.

Take care, and i hope we have good news from you soon

Aminah,

Thanks for reminding me that you are BU! I have been reading your

posts over the last month or so, but I always forget who is BU or SU

or UD until I read the signatures. So it is great to be reminded

that you are BU and that you are 34 weeks and 4 days! I am feeling

more relaxed about it... Did you get a cerclage? I guess with no

previous m/c they might not have recommended it.

I'll be excited to hear how things go for you during the next month!

take care,
