Guest guest
I'm a member on a few other Yahoo groups that require approval by the list owner before new members are validated to post. For example, they have to give a reason why they want to join the group. I think that this may be just enough to keep spammers off the board-too much effort and shuts down the automated spambots. I know that we've had quite a few new folks join lately, so that the process of approving new member requests might be a little time consuming. However, I would be happy to volunteer a few days a month to help with this, if others think this might be a solution. Ann --- " C. Guest guest
One last thing - hopefully it will put those of you who are feeling a bit wiggy about these things at a bit more ease. Rrmember, in cases like this, the spammers aren't sending their rubbish to your email addy, per se (even though that's where it ultimately ends up). They're posting to the board, which then acts as a remailer and sends the email to all of the members. It's unlikely that they're taking the time to actually copy and paste your email address into some master address file. --- Ann Chavie ann_chavie@...> wrote: > I'm a member on a few other Yahoo groups that require approval by the > list owner before new members are validated to post.
