Guest guest
I'm thinking that I need to be cautious about increasing thyroid meds until my ratio is higher but maybe I'm under dosing my thyroid medication. Given the labs below, should I increase my thyroid dosage? Currently I'm taking 90 mg of compounded iron and will start Naturethroid NT2 - 2 grain (130 mg)How should I dose the Nature-Throid? Only in the morning? Once, twice, or three times a day?Could my RT3 be purely caused by the low iron? I've only been off the T4 for less than a month but was only taking it for a few months. Do raised ferritin levels sometimes clear the RT3? I had my first Iron IV two days ago and had some skin reactions, not bad but I'm going to wait a while before trying that again and am continuing to heavily supplement. Last most relevant lab results: Free T3 - 2.5 (range 2.0 - 4.4)RT3 239 (range 90 - 350)Ferritin 12 (range 10 - 232)FT3/RT3 ratio 11% (?) Cortisol morning (saliva) 8.5 ng/ml (range 3.7-9.5)Cortisol Noon (saliva) 6.6 ng/ml (range 1.2 -3.0)Cortisol evening (saliva) 4.2 ng/ml (range 0.6 - 1.9)Cortisol night (saliva) 3.5 ng/ml (range 0.4 -1.0)Goodness gracious this is all so confusing to me but I'd be completely in the dark if it wasn't for this forum!Thanks,Bethwww.lostworld.com/beth/labs.html www.lostworld.com/beth/medhistory.html
Guest guest
With your labs oyu shouod not be in Natural thryoid at all but just T3. You alos wil find oyu wil need 200mg a day of elemental iron to bring your levels up, i have seen severla people whose levels fell on 100mg. Naturla thyroid will just create MORE Rt3 especially wiht your iron htis low. >> >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> http://faqhelp.webs.com/ >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ >> http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ >> I'm thinking that I need to be cautious about increasing thyroid meds until my ratio is higher but maybe I'm under dosing my thyroid medication. Guest guest
I truly didn't understand that, thank you. Is it okay to order from Mexico without a prescription? In any case it might tick my dr off if I ask him to change my scrip and I'm happy with him otherwise (after some awful experiences.) On second thought he probably would be okay with it but I literally am leaving town tonight and ordering from Mexico might be better but I could call him if I absolutely had to. What dosing should I take? What times of the day? Do I need to take any HC or Florinef to support the adrenals? I'm taking 200 mg a day between the blue bonnet chelated and some other forms with magnesium citrate so hopefully that will bring the ferritin up. Hopefully the Iron IV gave me a needed boost too.
