Hi Elna-

I experienced IUGR w/my pg. I cut back drastically on my activity, eat &

drank better and we noticed an improvement. That isn't to imply that you aren't

doing those things ... just relating my experience. My DD was born on her DD

at 7lbs 14oz.

Yes, women w/MAs do have an increased occurrence of IUGR *BUT* it is not due

to lack of space ... common misconception. It appears to be due to either

the blood vessels supplying the uterus OR something about the way our placentas

develop/attach/age. They just don't know, but its not a space/strechiness

issue.

I'm glad to hear the umbilical flow & fluid look good :-) Hang in there and

keep us posted!

Hello! I have posted " my UD story " in april, where I wrote that

everything was going well with my pregnancy...so far.

Now I am 32 weeks, and had an US two days ago. The gyn discovered by

measurements of the head and abdomen that my baby is 37% smaller than

average! (A month ago it was 6%)

He got me an appointment at the hospital the next day, so they could

consider performing a c-section or not. They just found the same growth

deviation, but the umbillical blood flow and amniotic (?) fluid was ok,

so they let the baby stay where she was...

Controls every week from now, hope the deviation is not increasing.

They hope to let her stay until at least 36 weeks. I dont know how

small she must be for them to take action. Anyone experience this?

How common is this among the MA-ladies? Does the UD cause this because

it is simply not enough room to grow?
