Guest guest
dear heidi, paula and gwenn, thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. it really helps. the information about the different procedures and that surgery isn't always the best approach was thought provoking and helpful. i'm busy reading the research literature now and seem to have found that much of the literature studies women who have had obstretical complications and that's the reason they are getting the septum diagnosed and removed. in these cases, the obstretical outcome seems fairly dismal and the surgery seems a great help. then 3% of women have septate uterus, don't even know it, and have normal obstretical outcomes. (the study with sterilized patients). can they tell you with the mri and such your chances of having a good obstretical outcome? from what i've read, the avascularized full septum seems the best case scenario and is slightly associated with better outcomes. does this sound right? the advice to find the best doctor possible struck me as true and important advice. thank you gwenn. i am so sorry that you were mistreated and given an overly aggressive d&c and hope that you're finding good support on the other site and wish you all the very best of luck for a recovery and healthy pregnancy. i live in syracuse, new york, which has a teaching hospital with a highrisk center. perhaps i will get a referral there. however, i am willing to travel to nyc--only five hours from here--for the best available care. gwenn, you said you doctor was particularly good? could i possibly get his/her name and information from you
