Guest guest
This past week I have been tripling the iron I was originally taking to get levels up. But I am feeling soooo tired and more anxiety in general. I thought increasing iron would improve things and I am wondering if there are some interim steps to get to feeling better? Does t3 pool in the blood? I was wondering if as I take more iron and IF t3 does pool if maybe that is putting more pressure on adrenals? I have no idea. I am currently on 30mg cortef, 1 tab florinef and 75mcg cytomel. Thanks, > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Just read this and it might be part of the problem for me. Although, getting on t3 (and clearing out the rt3)and cortef significantly reduced the panic that started with all of the hormone stuff. The t3 did not make panic any worse, but maybe the low ferritin is keeping it from going away atogether? > > > > > > > > Here are my full iron panel numbers on 4/7/10 > > > > iron: 73 (40-175mcg/DL) > > > > TIBC: 325 (250-450mcg/DL) > > > > Transferrin saturation: 22 (15-50%) > > > > Ferritin 32 (10-232 ng/mL) It's now 45 > > > > > > > > Do these show inflammation? > > > > > > > > I have increased Leptin (doc told me that can be a sign of inflammation?) > > > > 28.9 (4.1-25)and some elevated liver numbers that fluctuate - some tests are normal then others not. Gastroenterologist ran all sorts of tests - all heps, etc etc. did ultrasound on liver/gallbladder and everything checked out. So, if there is inflammation, they can't find the source yet. > > > > > > > > Thanks for the help! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > >>> I read that iron is important in the conversion of T4 to T3, but why is it that we have to get our ferritin up to 70 (?) before going on all T3? > > > >>> > > > >>> Thanks! > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>> > > > >>> ------------------------------------ > > > >>> > > > >>> We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
As your iron levels come up it may allow too much pooled T3 into the cells for yur adrenals to handle. It might be wise to lower T3 a bit till things level out agian. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > This past week I have been tripling the iron I was originally taking to get levels up.
