Guest guest
Hi, I had my DD at 32 weeks 6 days due to PPROM. I don't know anything labor induction though. My water began to leak on Sat. morning. The Dr. dismissed it because he couldn't see ferning. He gave me some meds and sent me home on bedrest. Then on Wed. evening my water broke completely....no mistaking it this time! I had an emergency c-section. I can only give you advice on the preemie experience....being approx 7 weeks early, my DD did great. She had no major problems other than having to be under the bilirubin light for a few days. We also had some trouble getting her to take a bottle. She was in the NICU for a total of 12 days. She is 21 months and very healthy! Have they given you steroids in order to help develop the baby's lungs? I have heard that this helps. Best of luck to you! Jen long time, no post...update (PROM) Hi everyone, Just a bit of history, then on to the new stuff ! I'm 40, 1st pg, diagnosed with BU. I've been monitored closely since about 9 weeks. Currently, I'm 34 weeks,5 days and have been in the hospital since my water broke 10 days ago. The current plan is to start inducing on Monday. So far, all is well, and the baby is doing just great. Has anyone had any experience with PROM and early labor induction ? I'm a bit concerned as my little guy is still going to be 5 weeks premature. I know that statistically, I'm in a great place...but I worry nonetheless. I would love to hear any comments from anyone that has had a similar situation. Thanks ! - BU, pg #1 34weeks/5days ____________________________________________________ Yahoo! Sports Rekindle the Rivalries. Guest guest
Hi there, Thanks for the responses everyone. I was given the steroid shots for lung development last week. The plan is to start me on some sort of cervix ripening agent orally tomorrow evening, then pitocin on Monday morning. My concerns are that it might not work...and if it does, I'll pretty much have to stay in bed for the entire labor process. In any case, I really just hope that the baby tolerates labor with no problems. My understanding is that once the fluid is gone, it gets a bit uncomfortable for them, and cord compression or prolapse issues can happen. Thanks again for the responses. - --- jennifer schramm jaschramm@...> wrote: > Hi, > > I had my DD at 32 weeks 6 days due to PPROM. I > don't know anything > labor induction though.
