Guest guest
Hi Rose, I'm so sorry for your losses. Let me give you a quick summary of my history and maybe it will help you. I went into preterm labor at 21.5 weeks and lost my son. He was not stillborn - but was too early to survive. No one could figure out why. Several doctors later, I had an MRI and HSG test which led to me being diagnosed with an extreme case of Bicornuate Uterus. Unfortunatly I don't know which side my baby had been in. At first my RE thought that reconstructive surgery might be a good idea - but then saw how severe the seperation was. After several consultations it was decided that I shoud do an IVF cycle. This way they can place the embryo on the larger side and hopefully I will carry longer. I begin the IVF cycle in late December. We also spoke with a perinatologist and she said that as far as the studies she has seen there is not much benifit to having the reconstructive surgery for extreme cases like mine - it can make the problems worse, cause scarring in the uterus and not really help prevent preterm labor. It seems you might have a different case so I would get an HSG if you haven't had one and talk to an RE and perinatologist. Let us know what they say, Becky > > Hi > My name is rosario, recently I have had a still birth, infact this > has happened to me twice, both at 23 wks pregrant, I also have 2 girls > living, i've got bicornate uterus.
