Hi adrianne -

I am BU and currently 29 weeks pg. with baby # 2. At my last cervical check I

was

3.25 cm. I think that anything less than 2.0 cm is a cause for concern regarding

preterm

labor & my OB felt that everything was OK for me.

I know that transvaginal ultrasound is an excellent tool in determining cervical

length.

Its normal for there to be some shortening of the pregnant cervix from the first

to second

tri of pregnancy but checking you every 2 weeks is probably a good plan.

I recall reading somewhere on the internet that normal with a mm measurement is

greater

than 25 mm so your 33 mm falls within that range. I'm sorry I don't have this

source but

I found a link on babycenter that may be helpful to you.

http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/pregcomplications/1425796.html

I didn't have preterm labor until 34 weeks with my first child. She was born

then and it was

scary but I'll be watched more closely this time around so I have renewed

hope!!!!

I didn't have any issues at all up until 34 weeks & I'm hopeful I will go

further with this

pregnancy. So far, so good!

Best wishes for an uneventful pregnancy.
