Hi Amber,

Good luck with your upcoming IVF. I saw your doctors pregnancy management

plan. FWIW, I've had two pregnancies and not had any problems with IC. My

doctors decided against the prophylactic cerclage because there are risks

associated with the cerclage that they considered unnecessary since I had not

demonstrated a need for the cerclage yet. They did keep a close eye on me from

16-24 weeks with both u/s and internal checks (alternating every 2 weeks

during that time frame).

I'm curious about Nos. 6 and 7 on your list...

" 6. Cervical microbiology intermittently throughtout

the 2nd trimester although I would not anticipate this

being abnormal. "

Are they talking about Pap smears intermittently throughout the pg? Unless

you have a history of abnormal Paps, I can't see any reason for this...I

would worry about irritating the cervix by frequent Paps during pregnancy.

Most

women have one during the first trimester and then they leave you alone until

after you deliver.

" 7. Prophylactic Nifedipine commencing at 20 weeks

gestation (with consideration given to progesterone as

an additional drug to potentially prolong pregnancy). "

What the heck is this???

Again, best of luck!
