Guest guest
I'm currently going to my internist but he admits he know little or nothing about hypothyroid issues, and while he has been very accommodating about working with me on what I read and find on support boards, he's too slow. A visit can take over 2 hrs. just to get in to see him. The final straw his office " re-scheduled " my morning appointment that I made over 2 months ago to an afternoon, which is useless for me since I can't take meds before blood work and I'm not going with out my thyroid meds until after 3 pm or later in the day. I would be truly sick by then not to mention what waiting that long would do the actual lab results. I've called several of the dr.s listed on Shomon's good dr.s list for the VA/MD/DC area and they're mostly (a)out of network benefits that means I have to pay upfront all charges each visit then try to get the money back from my health insurance by filing the correct forms? ( I have to get my own lab work done and pay extra for a copy of the result © one dr. charged by time for seeing the dr. ie. $$100 for 15 minutes, $150 for 30 minutes, $300 for an hour!©aren't taking new patients. I'm feeling pretty frustrated and defeated right now. Judy
