Hi there,

I'm not sure which kind of MA you have, but yes, I'd feel better having it

remeasured every couple weeks during the window in which IC is most likely to

occur if this is your first pregnancy or you have a history of a shortened

cervix (between weeks 16 and 22, 24 if you have a very conservative doc). 33

mm or 3.3 cm is good. Anything above 3 is good. If you get to 2.5, you need

to really watch it and at 2.0 a cerclage is usually indicated.

I had mine measured, or manually examined, every couple weeks during my

first pregnancy. My cervix was never longer than 3.5 cm, so I wouldn't worry

about 3.3 just yet. I don't remember what the smallest measurement was. I did

have some PTL, but not until 32 weeks and was only placed on modified bedrest

because the contractions weren't changing my cervix while I was being

observed. I delivered my son at 38w2d.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I am 17w3d pregnant and just had my cervix measured. it measured 33mm.

They said that i should be okay but want to remeasure in two weeks to

make sure its not shortening. They also told me i was on the low side

of normal. Anyone ever had their cervix measure and if you did what

was it and did you have preterm labor...?? Ohh..they couldnt tell if

it was a boy or girl because of bad positioning...maybe in two weeks
