Guest guest
YES I htink she needs T3 at this point. But I would get a full iron panel and saliva cortilsl first. Her T3/RT3 ratio is 14.23 so NOT good now and indicat4es T3 onyl as the best treatment to start, but you need to find out what is creating that RT3 issue as it is certainyl not high T4. Guest guest
since T4 is low does that mean thyroid function is not good?? and can elevated cortisol for whatever reason(say stress) cause lower thyroid production in the first place so that fixing cortisol levels can improve thyroid output...without need for medicines> TSH...1.1 UIU/ML (0.3-5.1)> > FT4...1.02 NG/GL (0.73-1.95)> > FT3...4.0 PG/ML (2.3-4.2)> > Reverse T3...281 PG/ML (90-350)> > Ferritin...101 NG/ML (7-150)> > Vitamin D ...38 NG/ML (30-100)

Guest guest
Sorry to jump in here, I hope you don't mind. It's been awhile since I've been on here. I'm noticing that some of these labs look like mine. I've never really gotten where the RT3 levels should be. My last one was 250 and before that it was 280, before I dropped a majority of my T4. Where is an optimal level of RT3? I'm assuming we all have some level of it. What's acceptable? Guest guest
I understand that some of the good T3/RT3 knowledgeable docs in California say people will feel much better if their reverse T3 is under 100 (looks like the very bottom of most of the ranges I have seen). Guest guest
Then I'm woefully too high with my RT3 as well. I'm guessing that 25mcg/T4 I'm taking is still causing problems. Interesting. In all the years I've been through this never once have I ever heard what an acceptable RT3 level was. Thanks.
