Hi, Ladies

I know it's been forever since I posted anything so I wanted to give

an update on my pg.

I'm now 26 weeks 3 days with a sweet little girl (Myrrah Belle).

After the cerclage at 13 weeks (due to progressive cervical

shortening to 2.8 cm), my cervix held nice and strong at 3.5 cm

until 2 wks ago when it started to shorten again to 2.9 cm and open

internally. So, my doctor has put me on bedrest. It's not strict

bedrest yet. I can get up to go to the bathroom and to get food,

but I'm trying to stay put as much as possible. Fortunately, I can

also do my job from home. I just need to make it to at least 28

weeks, even though we all want that to be more like 37 weeks. I go

back to the peri on Monday to see if this change in activity is

helping.

I also started having contractions two weeks ago. They went on for

about an hour or so but went away so I didn't go to the hospital.

When I mentioned this to my peri he made a comment that it was

probably a good thing that I didn't go to the ER since they probably

wouldn't know how to treat my case (that was so not reassuring!!!).

The week before my ob had also made a comment that if I go to the ER

make sure they don't manually check my cervix. How am I supposed to

remember this? So, I made up an " In case of emergency " card with

all the pertinent information on it (brief case history, do's,

don'ts, contact information, etc.).

I took this card to my ob and she said that it was good that I did

that. Then, she proceeded to say that she had already sent

information about my case to the L&D's in the area. Way to go,

doc! I was so impressed by that! She also said that I was one of

three of her most high-risk cases right now and that she was making

sure that the other doctors in my practice were aware of how to

treat me. And, she knows that some doctors would be happy with a 28

week baby, but she is ready to make me rest practically on my head

if it means keeping her in there until 37 weeks. I'm so glad to

know that she is doing everything possible to make sure that this is

a full-term baby!

As some of you may recall, I have not had the best experience with

doctors in the past so we are so relieved to know that we are in

good hands for this pregnancy.

Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know that we're still

hanging in there! I thank God (not often enough) for this little

miracle that He is giving us!

Best Wishes,

Mikell, 34
