Hi - quite a few women on this board have had first and second

trimester bleeding - various causes, usually benign. I doubt it would

be linked to the timing of your period. Bleeding is very common even

with non-MA pregnancies. Is your bleeding accompanied by cramping -

usually this is more worrying. I had spotting at 8, 9, 12 weeks (light

red blood, followed by days of brown spotting) and hours of 'gushing'

bright red bleeding at 14 weeks - caused by placenta previa. While I

had to take 7 weeks off work, the pregnancy was fine, DD was born at

40 weeks 1 day.

If you start bleeding more heavily, whether with cramps or not, seek

immediate care. I would still phone your perinatologist or ob-gyn and

try to get an u/s to check everything out - if only to put your mind

at rest.

Keep us posted.

I'm UD and 27 weeks pregnant. I had two bleeding episodes in my first

trimester. The first time my doc. sent me for an ultrasound that that

really assured me. The second time they heard the heart beat on a

doppler. Everything turned out to be OK. But it was a huge relief to

have the doc. confirm that things were ok. Make sure to call your

doc. and don't try to figure it out alone.
