HI there

Another random question from me down here in New Zealand!

Just wondering if anyone knows if Reverse T3 can block other hormone receptors

(other than t3, that is). The reason I am asking is that when I started Whole

Thyroid Extract back in December 2009, along with Reverse T3 Dominance Symptoms,

I began to experience severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and headaches just before

ovulation and just before menstruation. I now believe that these are symptoms of

hormone migraines.I know that estrogen can block t3 receptors and Im wondering

if it can happen the other way round as well with Reverse T3 blocking estrogen

receptors.

I am also suffering from PMS type symptoms right from the moment I ovulate.

Tests show that this is not because I am estrogen dominant (I supplement with

progesterone anyway). And my doctor seems to think it might be because my

estrogen receptors are blocked, so Im not getting the level of estrogen I need

to my cells (hence the migranes), and that the spare estrogen that is floating

around is causing the PMS problems. My doctor thinks it might be excess

progesterone blocking the receptors.

I, on the other hand, wonder if

1. The Reverse T3 is blocking my estrogen receptors and causing me to feel like

I have low estrogen, which leads to migraines

2. The Reverse T3 is blocking my estrogen receptors, so that in my luteal phase

the estrogen I do make cant get to where it needs to go and causes things like

breast tenderness right from the day of ovulation.

BUT, the only thing that changed in my life, right before the onset of these

migraines and PMS, was that I started the Whole Thyroid Extract. And this

eventually led to me becoming very badly Reverse T3 Dominant

I also dont ovulate until about day 22/23. When I was well had a perfect 28 day

cycle.

Any thoughts? Anyone?

Thanks heaps

jo
