Guest guest
Using t3 to get rid of excess reverse t3 I understand that. Also low ferritin causes high reverse t3. If you raise your ferritin will these take care of the reverse t3 or do you have to take plain t3 instead of armour.
Guest guest
If RT3 buildup is caught in a very early stage, correcting it by correcting ferritin may be possible. But usually, no, most here had to take T-3 only. " Once it {RT3} is at a certain point your body CANNOT fix it " from Moderator 's post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/44900 > > Using t3 to get rid of excess reverse t3 I understand that. Guest guest
I think rt3 can only be corrected without the use of t3 only meds while the persons STILL FEELS WELL. That is, the rt3 is caught by chance through routine labs, etc. Then you have the ability to fix the cause, stress, iron, bad diet, dieting, low protein, etc., etc. Problem is, people don't usually have thryoid labs run when they feel well! So you can feel well because you're running off high cortisol, but eventually your adrenals burn out and then you find yourself on this board with rt3 issues and on the adrenal board for your burned out adrenals. :-( It is normal for people to go into rt3 mode during stress, for example, due to high cortisol, and if the stress is dealt with, or the high cortisol corrected, to go back to normal. Similarly, if someone has surgery, they will go into rt3 mode, but usually you back to normal afterward. Same with dieting, although history of repeated dieting does eventually cause a " stuck " rt3 mode. (I think I did that to myself.) SO if you are sick enough to be on this forum, I doubt you can reverse rt3 without going onto t3 only. Of course, you can always try and see, but in all liklihood, you'll need to go onto rt3 to clear it out. Even 's Protocol (which is not practiced here) believe that you need to take t3 only to get rid of the rt3 and " cure " yourself. Unfortunately, most people here are stuck in rt3 mode forever and have to stay on t3 only. WHY we can't get unstuck, no one really knows.
