Disappointed after 1st appt. w/ RE

Hey ladies. I went to my first appt. with the RE today and feel

like I wasted my money and everyones time. He is said to be the

best " fertility " doctor in Virginia, and was therefor, the best

recomendation I could find on my insurance plan. So I took advice

here and went, so I could get an opinion from someone with more

experience than my ob/gyn has with MA's. Well... Everything he told

me, I already knew from you guys or my other dr. I asked him if he is

certain from what he sees in my files and pic's, that I am UD and not

BU or SU. He said, yes, you can see you have two cervixes and you can

see the UD in this picture here. I said that I was asking because

many get misdiagnosed with these areas... and I know I have heard it

millions of times here that two cervixes does NOT mean UD but I am

not one to argue with a doctor on the first go 'round. Well that

being his response and showing me a picture *just like the one we

have on our home page*, only made me feel less sure of this all. He

pointed to the picture we have labeled as BU. And I said this to

him... he seemed to think I was speaking foriegn language... like he

doesnt know there are major differences in UD and BU and SU. So I

just gave up. Why argue with a doctor whose supposed to be

experienced yet seems to not know these things.

And it's silly for me to be so bothered, because I have no

intentions of trying to be or becoming pregnant anytime in my near

future. But I wanted the security of knowing I had a good team of

dr's familiar with me when the time comes. However, this " team " is

turning out to be pretty lame. He even said to me and I quote " I

think you have taught me as much or more as I taught you today. "

Thanks ladies... at least I know I have the knowledge of your

experiences in hand if not a knowledgable doctor! *sigh* When the

time comes... shall I stick with my ob/gyn who has done his best to

learn with me in this journey? (At least unless I run into a problem,

and then if need be, I can figure out who to see.)

Thanks for listening... everyone else will think I am silly for

worrying over this now or give me " I told you so " 's because they

didnt see the point in going now anyways.
