Guest guest
H Mandy: many here are also low on Vitamin D and B12 (both of which should be near the tops of their ranges), so if possible I'd get them tested, too. B12 in particular, since low b12 adversely affects cognitive ability (I found that one out the hard way). Low folate also affects cognitive ability, so if you can get a folate test, that might provide useful info. I've read that the RBC folate test is superior to the Serum one. > > Hi, My name is Mandy > I've suffered low energy, depression, no drive or any semblance of zest for life, excessive sleeping, never waking refreshed, No sex drive, feeling drugged in the morningsince my late teen yrs. Low folate also affects cognitive ability, really!?!? when mandy described not having good cognitive ability " i'm always questioning whether i'm making sense " i thought THAT IS ME!! that's one of my MAIN symptoms... can you explain to me what this is from!? i have not had b12 tested yet, i take b 100 complex but forget to add extra b12... and what is folate? thanks > > > > Hi, My name is Mandy > > I've suffered low energy, depression, no drive or any semblance of zest for life, excessive sleeping, never waking refreshed, No sex drive, feeling drugged in the morningsince my late teen yrs. Guest guest
Folate is also called Vitamin B9. Here's a link with folate info, causes of deficiency, symptoms: http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec12/ch154/ch154b.html Folate deficiency and B12 deficiency both can cause anemia, here's a link: http://www.cureresearch.com/a/anemia/underly.htm Interfering with red blood cells being able to deliver adequate oxygen to the body, including the brain. b12 deficiency can also cause nerve damage. Some sources of info use the terms Folic Acid and Folate interchangeably, but I understand Folate is what we need and Folic Acid is unfortunately what most supplements deliver. For supplements, Lethal Lee recommended the active forms of folate, Folinic Acid & 5-Mthf., in this post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/48514 > > > > > > Hi, My name is Mandy > > > I've suffered low energy, depression, no drive or any semblance of zest for life, excessive sleeping, never waking refreshed, No sex drive, feeling drugged in the morningsince my late teen yrs.
