Guest guest
Hi again, I have just read Val's story. There is hope!!! My maternal grandmother had thyroid issues - I think, she would spend spells in bed and was often depressed and died of heart failure at 80. My maternal great grandmother committed suicide in her 50s - all I know is that she was a very large lady and she had problems and couldn't cope. As for my mother, well we are estranged now but I do recall that she was plagued by bad times when she would have horrrendous mood swings and tearful and the only time she ever seemed calmer was when she was pregnant???!! It is so scary that the thyroid and all of the associated hormones are treated so very poorly by the med profession - there are some really good and sympathetic docs but if you cannot afford to pay for private consultations then you are stuck. s
