Guest guest
I have recently developed painful fibrocystic breasts and this is NOT from high estrogen(level only 40). I am post meno, and have taken low dose estrogen for years, without this effect. The fibrocystic breasts started before the T3(I'm on my 5th week of T3) I take 43.75 mcg of T3, 27.5 mg cortisol. My t3 to rt3 ratio is 6.7 and my ferritin is 39, though i have been aggressively treating the iron deficiency as recommended here. I would like to add that the pain seems to have coincided with the bad thyroid results(TSH 3.75, dramatic reverse T3 issues). The dilemma is that the fibrocystic breast disease seems to indicate low iodine and the treatment is iodoral or similar . I know that per this website iodine supplementation is a no-no, as the theory is that it will stimulate the thyroid to produce more T4, which will only be converted to RT3. That much I understand. But if I have a true deficiency, what should I do? Interestingly, I had moved from iodized salt to non-iodized and perhaps this caused the deficiency. Regards.
